Burette
Glass burettes are precision laboratory instruments used to dispense precise volumes of liquids during titrations and other quantitative chemical analyses. Typically made from high-quality borosilicate glass, they are designed to resist chemical corrosion and withstand thermal stress. Glass burettes are graduated with finely etched markings, allowing for accurate measurement of the dispensed liquid. They come with a stopcock or valve, usually made of glass or Teflon. This controls the flow of the liquid.
These burettes are essential in laboratories where precise liquid handling is required, such as in chemistry, biology, and environmental science labs. They are commonly used in academic research, pharmaceuticals, environmental testing, and industrial quality control to ensure accurate and reproducible results in various titration procedures. Available in various sizes, ranging from 10 mL to 100 mL, glass burettes are chosen for their transparency. Allowing clear visibility of the liquid level and meniscus, which is crucial for accurate measurements.
